Website Security

TyTech helps protect websites with ongoing malware scans, critical software updates, and practical security hardening. The goal is fewer surprises—and a clearer path to recovery if something goes wrong.

Security is not a product you install once. It is a set of habits: keep software current, reduce unnecessary exposure, watch for integrity problems, and make sure backups exist when prevention is not enough.

Who this is for

Website security services fit businesses that:

  • Depend on a site for leads, bookings, or credibility across the United States
  • Run WordPress or similar CMS stacks with plugins and themes that need disciplined updates
  • Have dealt with malware, spam injections, or mysterious redirects—or want to avoid that experience
  • Already host with TyTech (or are ready to) and want security treated as part of operations
  • Need plain-language guidance on safer admin habits and hosting configuration—not fear-based sales pitches

If your site collects form data, runs an e-commerce checkout, or simply represents your brand publicly, security deserves a plan.

Security services

Scheduled malware and integrity checks

Scheduled scans look for known malware patterns and unexpected file changes. Integrity checks help catch “something changed that should not have” situations earlier—when cleanup is smaller and less public.

Critical updates when TyTech manages the site

When we manage WordPress core, themes, and plugins, we apply critical updates as part of responsible care. Update timing balances urgency (known vulnerabilities) with stability (not breaking the site at midnight without a path back).

Hardening practices

Practical hardening includes measures such as secure headers and reducing exposure of unnecessary details that help attackers fingerprint your stack. Hardening is about shrinking the easy attack surface—not pretending any site is unreachable.

Guidance on safer admin and hosting configurations

Weak passwords, shared logins, abandoned admin accounts, and loose file permissions cause real incidents. We advise on safer configurations and habits so security work is not undone by day-to-day access patterns.

Security plus hosting and backups

Security works best alongside reliable hosting and maintenance. Backups do not replace prevention, but they matter when you need to restore cleanly.

TyTech’s approach pairs monitoring and updates with recoverability: online and offline backup routines, plus the operational uptime focus reflected in our 99%+ average hosting uptime figure published across the site. Prevention first; recovery ready.

Our process

  1. Risk & stack review — CMS, plugins, themes, users, hosting environment, SSL, and known history of issues.
  2. Baseline hardening — Reduce obvious exposure; confirm HTTPS and sensible configuration defaults.
  3. Scan & update cadence — Schedule malware/integrity checks and critical update handling within scope.
  4. Backup verification mindset — Confirm that restore options exist and are understood—not just that a backup job “exists somewhere.”
  5. Incident path — If malware or compromise is found, prioritize containment, clean restore or cleanup, and credential review.
  6. Ongoing care — Security is continuous; many clients fold it into a Care Plan so hosting, updates, and scans stay aligned.

Deliverables

Within an agreed security scope, clients typically receive:

  • Scheduled malware and integrity checking for the covered site
  • Critical update handling for managed WordPress core, themes, and plugins (when TyTech manages those layers)
  • Applied hardening measures appropriate to the stack (e.g., secure headers, reduced unnecessary exposure)
  • Guidance on admin access hygiene and safer hosting-related settings
  • Coordination with backups and hosting so recovery is part of the plan
  • Clear communication when something needs your attention (e.g., a risky plugin, a compromised password pattern)

We do not promise “unhackable.” We promise disciplined, practical protection and a better recovery posture.

Timeline expectations

  • Initial hardening and baseline setup: often completed in a short project window once access is available—commonly measured in days for a standard business site
  • Ongoing scans and updates: continuous after setup; not a one-time event
  • Incident response: timing depends on severity, backup quality, and how deep the compromise is. Sites with current backups and managed hosting recover faster than neglected DIY installs

If you are already compromised, say so up front. Cleanup and hardening are sequenced differently than prevention-only onboarding.

Pair security with hosting and maintenance. If the site itself is fragile or outdated, web design and development may be the longer-term fix. For bundled monthly care, see Care Plans—Essentials and above include hosting, backups, updates, and security.

Frequently asked questions

Can you guarantee my site will never be hacked?

No responsible provider can. Threats change, credentials leak, and zero-days happen. What we can do is reduce likely attack paths, keep software current, monitor for problems, and improve how quickly you recover.

I think my site is already infected. Can you help?

Often yes. We assess the damage, prioritize cleanup or restore from a clean backup, rotate credentials, and harden afterward so you are not stuck in a reinfection loop. Speed and backup quality matter—contact us as soon as you suspect an issue.

Is a security plugin enough?

Plugins can help, but they are not a complete program. Updates, hosting configuration, access control, backups, and monitoring all matter. A plugin without maintenance is a false sense of safety.

Do you only secure WordPress?

WordPress is common in our security work because it is common in business web. Tell us your stack; we will be direct about fit and limits.

How does this relate to Care Plans?

Care Plan tiers (Essentials, Growth, Partner) include hosting, backups, updates, and security as a foundation. Standalone security conversations still start from the same principles—especially if you are not ready for a full plan yet.

What do you need from me to start?

Admin access (or a path to obtain it), hosting access if separate, and a short history of any past incidents. We handle the technical review from there.

Reduce risk. Improve recovery.

If your website is worth having, it is worth protecting—with scans, updates, hardening, and backups that actually restore.
